A Family for Ruby Lin

One more day...
Then off to Beijing

August 28, 2006

Several people have asked about our travel itinerary. Here are the "tentative" plans as we have them from our agency:

8/30 - Wednesday
Depart for Beijing

8/31 - 9/02
Tour Beijing

9/3 - Travel to Guangdong

9/4: Afternoon travel to Civil Affairs Office to receive child.
9/5: A.M. - Travel to complete paperwork and adoption registration.
9/6: Bus to Civil Affairs Bureau to get Adoption documents.
9/7: Public Security Bureau to apply for babies' passports in afternoon
9/8: Shopping
9/9: Sightseeing to Chen Family Museum and Pearl Market.
9/10: Visit orphanage or relax
9/11: A.M. - Babies' visa pictures and medical exam.
P.M. - Get passports, notary papers and INS forms.
9/12: Judy delivers papers to American Consulate. Group picture in afternoon.
9/13: Group Oath. Get babies' visas in afternoon. Depart for USA

We are scheduled to arrive at Tri-Cities airport on Northwest airlines flight 3230 from Detroit, MI at 9:17 PM on Thursday, 9/14.

The next update we will post should be from Beijing, barring any unforeseen problems with Internet access or other issues. We would greatly appreciate you keeping us in your thoughts and prayers as we set about on this "Great Adventure".

Please pray for Ruby's continued good health and her patience with us as everything she has ever known is completely shattered and blown to the wind.

Please pray that Jada stays healthy and that the long trip is tolerable and does not pose too much of a hardship for her.

Please pray for God's anointing on us as we tend to all of Ruby's needs; physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Know there are many here at home that will bathe you in prayer during your travel. I never take for granted being able to stretch out in my own bed and am reminded of the luxury when friends embark on the 15 hour MRI. Take care dear Lanes! Love S,D, JD + E.

I have thought of you often today which has brought happy tears to my eyes. I am praying for your safe trip and return. I just think of what a blessing the 1st trip was and now you are having this wonderful experience again. We are so blessed! We love you.

We hope things have gone smoothly from the TRI to Detroit and then on the LONG flight over. The 15 hour MRI comment Susan made was right on target! But seriously, we have thought of and mentioned you all often today. Eliza even prayed for you when we said her prayers tonight. We know that God is upholding all of you (including sweet Ruby) in His hand and will see you through this trip! We can't wait to hear from you!

LETMEOUTOFHERE!!! Say's Sheila,, but honey, where are you going to go? Say's Richard... and it's history repeating itself? ummm, it's about 8 hours into your Detroit to Toyk. flight and I'm figuring it's about time for Sheila to start eyeing the cabin exit sign. We heard from Brittany that your Detroit flight was delayed 3 hours making your layover in the Auto city 8 hrs! Ouch!

Hope you all made it safely and uneventful(exculding the flight delays) to China. congratulations again and hope to hear from you soon. We hope this trip will be a momory for a life time also. How did the new travel regs. effect you taking items onto flights now? Hope you were able to sleep on the flight.
We will keep you all in our prayers.
