You can't say I lied to you now - the referral is here! Jada helped us open the FedEx package today and we were all just blown away at what was enclosed. Please join us in welcoming Miss Ruby Lin Lane to America (soon) and please let her know you are thinking about her by posting a comment in her travel journal that you can access with the link above. We will save all the comments and let her read them when she is older. I'm sure it will mean a lot to her.
So, without any further ado, may we please introduce to you, Ruby Lin Lane:
June 22, 2006
With our upcoming referral in a few days, we would like to invite you to view our journal site – A Family for Ruby Lin. We will use the journal site to update you on all information related to bringing Ruby home.
Our first pictures of Ruby, updates while in China, the trip home and updates after we are home will be on this site.
You can access the site at this address:
If you wish, you can submit your email address on the site to be notified when the journal is updated. The email will contain a link back to the site so you will not have to remember the link.
Please feel free to comment on ANY of the journal entries.
We look forward to sharing this amazing journey with you.
Richard, Sheila and Jada Lee Lane
We are eagerly awaiting Ruby's referral. Wait times have become longer since our paperwork dossier login date (LID) of 6/27/2005 at the CCAA in China.
Ruby's cousin (Brittany) has been taking pictures of Jada holding a referral countdown sign on the monthly anniversary of Ruby's paperwork LID. She didn't begin until the 3rd month anniversary in September, 2005. Keep in mind that if Brittany changes her site in a way that affects the links, the picture(s) may no longer be valid.
2/27 - We're not EVEN going to think about referral taking longer than 8 months! When we were logged in, referral wait time was approximately 6 months.
3/27 - Guess what? The very thing I said above that I didn't want to think about has happened. Yesterday marked the 9th month since our log -in-date (LID). who would have thunk it, huh? We are standing here after nine months when early on we thought we would have been back for a month or two at this point. Oh well, Good things come to those who wait, right?
Kisses In The Wind
We hold you in our
heart & touch you in our dreams.
You are here each day with us, at least that's how it seems.
We know you wonder where we are...and what's taking us so long.
But remember child we love you so and God will keep you strong.
Now go out side and feel the breeze and let it touch your skin...
Because tonight, just as always, we'll be blowing you kisses in the wind.
May God hold you in his hand until we can be with you.
We promise you darling we are doing all that we can do.
Very soon you'll have a family for real, not just pretend.
But for tonight, just as always we blow you kisses in the wind.
May God wrap you in His arms and hold you tight,
and let the angels bring the kisses that we send to you each night.

You first came to us in an envelope
With letters, forms and such
Just three tiny little pictures
With nothing warm to touch.
You grew in our imagination
In our hearts and in our minds.
You brought us greater joy
Than we ever thought we'd find.
A phone call started labor pains
Which lasted 'til we met
Strangers brought together
A day we won't forget.
You bloomed as you were planned
In our hearts, our lives, our home.
Our child of chance, of plan, of will
You're now our very own.

Our Dearest Daughter
Before you were born we loved you.
Before you were born we cared.
Before you were born your place in our hearts
Was already being prepared.
For us it seems like a lifetime,
Two years is a very long ride.
But for you it's been a lifetime,
With no Mom or Dad by your side.
The time grows short, we'll be there soon,
We're only a moment away.
A family we'll be, in just a short time,
It's almost Forever Day.
